House Life
The International Students' House for Women is a safe and comfortable home to women scholars from thirty countries from around the world. The House is a vibrant, friendly place whose ethos reflects the rich diversity of its residents. The House is abuzz with activity throughout the year. Apart from talks, lectures and other academic events, residents come together to celebrate events like the Fresher's Party, the New Year and Annual Night as well as festivals like Christmas and Holi. The House provides a number of facilities to make the stay of residents' comfortable and happy.
GARDEN
The green, well kept garden running the whole length of the House is dotted with benches where girls can relax, read and study.
GROUND FLOOR
OFFICE: The House Office, Offices of the Provost/ Warden/Resident Tutor, House Keeper. Caretaker and Guard's Room are located on the ground floor to take care of the needs of the residents.
LOBBY: The House has a pleasant, cozy lobby with comfortable couches for visitors.
COMMITTEE ROOM: It provides a conducive ambience for holding small meetings, conferences, management committee meetings, SWA and other meetings with small groups.
MEDICAL ROOM: A visiting doctor and a medical room equipped with basic medical facilities are available for medical care of the residents.
DINING HALL: Equipped with custom designed furniture, the hall can accommodate 60 persons at one sitting. The House kitchen has modern facilities for the preparation of hygienic meals.
LAUNDRY: The House has a well equipped laundry room with fully automatic washing machines.
BADMINTON COURT AND TABLE TENNIS TABLE: These recreational facilities allow the girls to relax and exercise in the House.
Photocopying is available on payment on the ground floor.
First Floor
Suite Room
A one room set with attached bath & a kitchen is kept for guests on payment.
Lounge Room
A well-furnished lounge with LCD projector, excellent sound system and a big screen for viewing provides entertainment to the residents. It is also used for seminars and lectures.
Library
A large air conditioned room situated on the 1st floor, the library has a collection of books ranging from general reference books to fiction as well magazines and newspapers.
Reading Room
A furnished AC room on the first floor provides a good space for reading. It is also equipped with internet enabled computers.
Second Floor
Internet Room
A spacious airconditioned room with internet enabled computers.
T.V. Room
Residents of the House have a separate room for television viewing.
(An additional TV lounge is also situated on the first floor)
Third Floor
Guest Room
A room with three beds is kept aside for guests who come to Delhi University for a short period.
Gymnasium
An air conditioned gym on the third floor has a number of modern machines, which help the students to exercise and be fit without going out of the House.
Pantry on each Floor
A pantry on each floor adds to the convenience of the residents. This facility allows the residents to try out their own recipes at any hour as per their convenience.
First Aid Kit
First Aid Kit is available in the room of the security guard. But the case of illness/injury should be reported to the House Management/ Office at the earliest.
Wi-Fi
The House is equipped with high speed wireless internet for the use of all residents.
Bus Service
A Bus Shuttle is available from ISHW Complex to the University (North) Campus from morning till evening. For bus timings contact the House office.
